AUDITIONS
Audtions will take place on Saturday, December 6th.
(Rehearsals will not begin until Saturday, January 3rd.)
Sign up for ONE slot option:
SLOT 1: NOON PM to 2:00 PM (December 6th)
OR
SLOT 2: 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM (December 6th)
There is no charge to audition.
You must be between the ages of 8 and 18 by December 6th.
VOCALS
Be prepared to sing 16 to 32 bars (30 to 60 seconds) of a song in a similar genre. Bring sheet music for the piano accompanist or a device to play an instrumental track. A capella is not recommended.
DANCE
Wear athletic shoes or jazz shoes to learn a short dance sequence. No crocs or sandals allowed. If you can do any tumbling or gymnastics, please be prepared to showcase these skills.
MONOLOGUE/SCRIPT READING
You will be asked to read from the script. If there is a particular role you would like to read for please indicate this on the audition form. Audition sides are posted below. If you are serious about getting a lead role, please prepare to present at least one of the audition sides listed below. If you are only interested in ensemble, you do not have to deliver a side.
AUDITION LOCATION
Auditions will take place at the TC rehearsal space (140 W. Main Street, Albemarle NC 28001). Please send your questions to stagemanagertc@gmail.com.
CALLBACKS
Callbacks (if needed) will be on Sunday, December 7th from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Students who are called back will be expected to learn a portion of a song from the show and perform it during this time slot.
CONFLICTS
Be prepared to list any conflicts from January 3rd through March 29th. Tech week and show dates are mandatory (see calendar below). All those who are casted will receive scripts and tracks during the week of December 8th to review prior to rehearsals beginning in January. Lead characters will attend a private vocal lesson during the week of December 8-13 to review their solos with the music director.
